whiteshirtyellowbackBarry Scott is the Theatre Manager at Tennessee State University. He is also the Producing Artistic Director for The American Negro Playwright Theatre.
Barry Scott was named NASHVILLIAN OF THE YEAR in the Nashville Scene Magazine which also named him on multiple occasions NASHVILLE’S BEST ACTOR.
He was recently inducted into the Nashville Alliance for Public School’s HALL OF FAME.
Barry Scott is a much in demand National Voice Over Artist working for such clients as ESPN, ABC, CBS, TNT, TNA, WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS and many more.
Barry Scott played the title role in the award winning Independent Film JEREMIA STRONG and proudly co-starred with the late Jim Varney in Walt Disney’s Touch Stones Pictures feature film release EARNEST GOES TO JAIL.
Barry Scott starred in the theatrical stage productions LOOKING OVER THE PRESIDENT’S SHOLDER directed by Robert Guillaume,  THE PIANO LESSON and  A LESSON BEFORE DYING, directed by Woodie King Jr., DADDY SAYS, MACBETH, OTHELLO, TWELVE ANGRY MEN and many more.
Barry Scott has written, produced, directed and starred in the theatrical productions AIN’T GOT LONG TO STAY HERE featuring Jennifer Holiday, OH FREEDOM featuring Patti Austin, HARLEM VOICES, A JOYFUL NOISE, AN AMERICAN SLAVERY PLAY, A MAN NAMED YORK, and WHEN I GROW UP I’M GONNA GET ME SOME BIG WORDS.
Barry Scott played a recurring role in the television series IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT.
Barry Scott is a highly sought after motivational speaker who travels extensively across the Untied States with his Performance Lecture entitled COURAGE TO LEAD: a tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. He is a regular guest speaker at the Vanderbilt University Owen School of Management in Nashville, Tennessee.
